Do you enjoy building relationships with schools, families and young people?
Do you value autonomy within a strongly supportive team?
Are you passionate about psychology?
If so, working with Applied Psychologies could be for you!
We're looking for an Educational Psychologist to join our team starting September 2020 in the Liverpool area.
We are looking for a full, part or term-time EP to work with us in Liverpool and surrounding areas.
You will play a key role in our North West team, delivering services to a number of schools in the area. Those schools will be yours for the academic year and you will have the opportunity to build strong relationships and get to understand their needs. You will decide how best to use your time and skills to give your schools the best service, with the support of our experienced team as and when needed. The work you do is limited only by your imagination!
With no statutory work, you can be more creative, for example, offering systemic work (e.g. Appreciative Inquiry) across schools and trusts, whole class interventions, staff supervision and training. Our assess-plan-do-review model for individual casework also offers the opportunity to design and implement collaborative interventions with schools and families and evaluate impact in the longer-term.
The successful candidate can expect:
highly competitive rates of pay and mileage allowance
generous annual leave entitlement
generous yearly CPD budget
flexible working across seven days
a highly supportive team with daily contact via our WhatsApp peer Supervision Group
a strong emphasis on individual and group supervision
a consistent patch of designated schools
access to our wide range of shared resources which includes assessment, training, intervention and research materials
Most of all, we encourage creativity and opportunities to develop your areas of psychological interest. We want you to love being an EP and love working for us!
The North West Team:
Our North West team is growing rapidly and has developed an excellent reputation working with over 60 settings across Lancashire, Liverpool and Manchester. We regularly deliver centralised training to groups of schools across the North West, for instance, providing training on Working Memory to over 150 Lancashire SENCOs.
Our multi-disciplinary team are mostly Hull-based currently, however, we are working on creating a similar team across the north-west. Our Hull-based specialists are always available for support/advice.
Our multi-disciplinary team is made up of:
ASC Specialist Teacher
Advisory Teacher for Interaction and Communication
Specialist Paediatric Occupational Therapist
Speech and Language Therapist
We are looking for passionate, proactive people who really care about delivering positive outcomes for young people, their families and the schools and settings in which they work. We want you to be excited about the opportunities working for Applied Psychologies can bring and the chance to make real change in your schools.
The role requires HCPC registration, reliability, consistency and a proactive approach to communication and organisation.
Our purpose is simple; to deliver positive outcomes for young people, their families and the schools and settings in which they work.
Our team is now 30 members strong! We’re looking for passionate and dedicated professionals to join us. Here’s some of the reasons why our team love working with Applied Psychologies:
“Great team support and supervision - the WhatsApp group is really helpful! Also, you can focus on being an EP and not bureaucracy - the emphasis is on psychology!” Fiona, educational psychologist
“Being a tiny part of a fantastic organisation that puts people and communication at the heart of what it does; whether that be the young people, the school staff or AP colleagues” Kathy, specialist teacher - ASC
“Feeling like you have the flexibility and freedom to actually develop strategies and then review said strategies.” Jenny, educational psychologist
