Do you enjoy building relationships with schools, families and young people?
Do you value autonomy within a strongly supportive team?
Are you passionate about psychology?
If so, working with Applied Psychologies could be for you!
We're looking for Educational Psychologists to join our team for this academic year.
We are looking for 2 x part-time, employed EPs
Post 1: 2 days per week employed, to cover Hull, Leeds or both depending on location.
Post 2: 2 days per week employed to cover Sefton, Knowsley, Wigan areas.
Both posts have the potential to increase to full time roles.
You will be joining our fabulous team of 30 EPs, assistant EPs, OT, SaLT, therapist and specialist teachers, delivering services to a small number of schools in your area. Those schools will be yours for the academic year and you will have the opportunity to build strong relationships and get to understand their needs. You will decide how best to use your time and skills to give your schools the best service, with the support of our experienced team as and when needed. The work you do is limited only by your imagination!
With no statutory work, you can be more creative, for example, offering systemic work (e.g. Appreciative Inquiry and policy work) across schools and trusts, whole class interventions, staff supervision and training. Our assess-plan-do-review model for individual casework also offers the opportunity to design and implement collaborative interventions with schools and families and evaluate impact in the longer-term.
You can expect:
competitive rates of pay
a consistent patch of designated schools allocated yearly
opportunities for collaboration with peers in working groups
regular team contact via our WhatsApp peer supervision group
access to our wide range of shared resources which includes assessment, training, intervention and research materials
Most of all, we encourage creativity and opportunities to develop your areas of psychological interest. We want you to love being an EP and love working for us!
We are looking for passionate, proactive people who really care about delivering positive outcomes for young people, their families and the schools and settings in which they work.
We want you to be excited about the opportunities working for Applied Psychologies can bring and the chance to make real change in your schools.
As an employed EP you will be part of an exceptional team, with access to all our shared resources and group supervision opportunities as well as support from management and peers. We encourage all of the team to use their CPD budget and learn from and collaborate with their peers to make sure we're the best psychologists we can be.
The role requires reliability, consistency and a proactive approach to communication and organisation.
You will also need HCPC registration, Enhanced DBS, a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
Our purpose is simple; to deliver positive outcomes for young people, their families and the schools and settings in which they work.
Applied Psychologies now serve over 150 schools from Liverpool to Hull. We're building a team to support schools across all areas the code of practice. We work with whole trusts where we're able to make real change and this regularly informs our practice at individual school level. We deliver centralised training to groups of schools across the North West, for instance, providing training on Working Memory to over 150 Lancashire SENCOs. We're also building our online training offer.
