About the event

As of September 2019, OFSTED have started to conduct inspections using the updated Education Inspection Framework. This includes several changes that have a significant impact on inclusion and SEND within your schools.

We've partnered with SEND consultants ADys Specialist Ltd to bring you a full day session covering the updated framework, what that means for your practice and how resilience is key to inclusion.

Do you feel confident in demonstrating how you lead SEND and celebrating how inclusive your school is?

Are you fully aware of what is happening in the classroom and how this impacts pupils with SEND?

Is the vision you have for SEND displayed across school and driven by all?

What are the key changes that you need to be aware of as SEND lead?

Do your pupils have the tools they need to be truly independent learners?

Morning Session: OFSTED Framework

The morning will focus on giving you the confidence to answer these questions, equipping you with the tools you need to embed best practice and inspire independence and resilience in all learners within your setting.

  • Overview of the new OFSTED 2019 framework
  • The importance of SEND across all of the 4 areas of the framework
  • Gathering and presenting evidence to demonstrate effectiveness of SEND provision in your setting
  • The importance of monitoring and the triangulation approach
  • Working with your SEND governor, staff, parents and pupils on the shared vision of inclusion
  • Myth busting of expectations

Afternoon session: Building Resilience for Independent Learning

Life is full of setbacks, but it’s how we react to them that matters, which is why the new Ofsted Inspection Framework places great emphasis upon the importance of resilience.  We will explain the concept of resilience, demonstrate its’ importance upon children’s learning and emotional wellbeing and provide a wide range of practical, simple strategies that can help you to develop resilience within your students, and within yourself!

There will be opportunities to share good practice and networking with local SENCOs over lunch and refreshment breaks. We will also be on hand to offer advice as SEND consultants across primary and secondary settings.

Your speakers will be:

Claire Ashton, ADys BA (Hons), PGCE, PgCert in SENCo, PgCert SpLd Dyslexia, PgCert SpLd Dyscalculia, AMBDA, ATS, MBPsS, SpLdAPC (Patoss)

Clare Woodcock, ADys BEd (Hons), NPQSL, PgCert SpLd Dyslexia, AMBDA, ATS, SpLdAPC (Patoss)
