About the event
The Teaching Assistant Practitioner Programme (TAPP): Cognition & Learning offers a range of benefits for schools, support staff and pupils by developing specialist expertise in learning and cognition interventions and strategies.
This is the first of five sessions in the programme. You can buy standalone sessions or buy all five for a discounted price.
Attendees will learn to recognise working memory difficulties and how to implement practical classroom adaptations to reduce barriers to learning and support retention of learning. The session explores strategies that minimise cognitive overload and promote pupil independence, enabling learners to engage more successfully with classroom tasks.

By the end of this session, attendees will be able to:
Explain the role of working memory in learning and understand how difficulties with working memory can impact a pupil’s ability to follow instructions, retain information and complete classroom tasks.
