After 13 years at the helm, Co-founder and Director Dr David Lamb will be stepping down as Principal Educational Psychologist (PEP) at the end of this academic year. David will remain as an Educational Psychologist (EP) as part of Team AP on a reduced basis whilst taking a step back from leadership responsibilities. We would like to thank David for all his efforts in establishing the service with fellow co-founder Dr Jonny Craig-Laber and helping us to grow to a team of 30 outstanding multi-agency professionals who have building positive relationships with schools at the heart of everything they do.

As David takes a well-earned break, we are delighted to announce that Dr Jenny Cosgrove will be stepping up from her role as Senior Educational Psychologist to become our new PEP. Jenny will join Amy Robson-Downes (Director of Business) on the Senior Leadership Team to lead on the outstanding educational psychology and specialist support we provide to the ever-growing number of schools and educational settings we work with.
Jenny brings to the role a wealth of experience, having worked in both local authority and independent services, and a desire to apply psychology at all levels within school organisations and the communities of which they are a part of. Jenny’s appointment also highlights our commitment as a service to support career development with Jenny having previously held a main grade EP position prior to becoming a Senior EP.
David: “I am thrilled that Jenny will be our next PEP at Applied Psychologies. Jenny is a model professional with wonderful leadership qualities and an unrivalled passion for delivering psychology. As I step back, I am excited to see what the next chapter of Applied Psychologies will bring with the enthusiasm, energy and empathy that Jenny and Amy will bring to the team and those we support in meeting the needs of children and young people. I have loved every minute of being PEP and I look forward to providing my full support to Amy, Jenny and the wider team in the future”.
Amy: “As Director of Business, I understand the significance of leadership continuity in maintaining the trust of our team and the schools and families we work with. While we say farewell to our much loved and respected figurehead, David, our service remains grounded in the stability we’ve built over the years. I remain committed to ensuring a smooth transition that protects our relationships and long-term vision. With integrity and optimism at the heart of our work, I’m personally excited to welcome Jenny – with her fresh insight and energy - to the Senior Leadership Team to see what we can achieve together in the coming years.”
Jenny: “It has been a pleasure to work at Applied Psychologies with David’s leadership, trust and encouragement. I am ever grateful for his support through my journey. In Team AP I have found where I belong as a Psychologist, where the values of the service match my own, and we can continually put the children and communities we work with in the centre of all we do. I’m excited to see where the next chapter takes us as I embrace more opportunities to collaborate with our incredible team of Psychologists and allied practitioners, and the school communities we support”.
