Senior EP, Part Time, Bury Burnley area

Updated: Nov 9, 2023

2.5 days a week with a small patch of schools and supervision of Assistant Educational Psychologists (AEPs)

Now is a great time to join us at Applied Psychologies as we have just transitioned into an Employee Owned Trust (EOT) - this means you can have a say in the direction of the company and share in its success!

You will be joining our fabulous team of EPs, AEPs and Trainee EPs, OT, SaLT, therapist and specialist teachers, delivering services to a small number of schools in the Bury and Burnley areas. You will have the opportunity to build strong relationships and get to understand their needs. You will decide how best to use your time and skills to give your schools the best service, with the support of our experienced team as and when needed.

At Applied Psychologies, you can be more creative, for example, offering systemic work across schools and trusts, whole class interventions, staff supervision and training. Our assess-plan-do-review model for individual casework also offers the opportunity to design and implement collaborative interventions with schools and families and evaluate impact in the longer-term.

You can expect:

  • competitive rates of pay (Soulbury Senior Pay Scale)

  • a share of company profits as part of our EOT

  • flexible working

  • a consistent patch of designated schools

  • regular 121 and group supervision

  • an enthusiastic WhatsApp peer supervision group

  • a focus on CPD

  • opportunities for collaboration with peers in working groups

  • access to our wide range of shared resources which includes assessment, training, intervention and research materials

Most of all, we encourage creativity and opportunities to develop your areas of psychological interest. We want you to love being an EP and love working for us!

The role:

This is a Senior EP position with responsibility for supervising two AEPs. During your 2.5 days with us you will deliver a small amount of time in schools, with the remaining time being allocated for supervision.

It requires reliability, consistency and a proactive approach to communication and organisation. The right candidate will play a big part in supporting aspiring EPs during a demanding assistant role. You will have a genuine desire to support their development and career aspirations drawing on your experience to offer aspects of mentoring and coaching alongside the formal supervision.

For the right candidate we are happy to discuss working patterns up to full time. The role will commence March/April 2024.

About you:

  • Do you enjoy building relationships with schools, families and young people?

  • Do you value autonomy within a strongly supportive team?

  • Are you passionate about psychology?

If so, working with Applied Psychologies could be for you!

We are looking for passionate, proactive people who really care about delivering positive outcomes for young people, their families and the schools and settings in which they work.

We want you to be excited about the opportunities working for Applied Psychologies can bring and the chance to make real change in your schools.

As an employed EP you will be part of an exceptional team, with access to all our shared resources and group supervision opportunities as well as support from management and peers. We encourage all of the team to use their CPD budget and learn from and collaborate with their peers to make sure we're the best psychologists we can be.

You will be an experienced EP who is already working as a senior or is ready to take the next step in your career.

Experience of supporting AEPs, TEPs or EPs is desirable but not essential.

You will also need HCPC registration, Enhanced DBS, a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

About us:

Our purpose is simple; to deliver positive outcomes for young people, their families and the schools and settings in which they work.

Applied Psychologies is now 10 years old and continues to enjoy yearly organic growth, built upon our relationships within the team and in our schools. We're committed to supporting schools across all areas of the code of practice and maintaining a fair and ethical service for people and planet.

We now serve over 170 schools across the North of England and we’re looking for passionate and dedicated professionals to join us. Here’s some of the reasons why our team love working with Applied Psychologies:
